Funeral Services for Eula Johnnie Kernes, age 84 of Royse City, was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Caldwell officiating. Interment followed at Enon Cemetery with Joe Blodgett, David Hamm, Andy Endsley, Dylan Hamm, Brenden Hansen and David Caldwell serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Kernes passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Pleasant Valley Health & Rehab in Garland. She was a retired LVN and a member of the Central Baptist Church.
She was born on August 21, 1931, the daughter of Alfred W. and Ettie M. (Kilmer) Samples.
Survivors include sons, Thomas Wayne Hamm of Royse City and Billy Keith Hamm of Garland; daughters, Donna Jeanette Harbor of Garland and Cynthia Ann Sandoval of Garland; brother, Sonny Samples of Fayetteville, AR; sisters, Patricia Robison of Grove, OK; Lottie Miller of Broken Arrow, OK; Iva Samples of Grove, OK; Brenda Bricker of Grove, OK and Gwendolyn Brazeal of Tulsa, OK; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald W. Hamm and James Kernes; two brothers, Bill Ray Samples and Jimmy Samples and a sister, Carolyn Barr.
