Funeral services for Sanford Andy Gammill, age 86 of Como, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Rev. B. J. Teer officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Interment with military honors will follow at Arbala Cemetery with James Wilfred, Joe Wallace, James Andy Wilfred, Jayden Wallace, Richard Watts, Sanford Shell, David Watts and Justin Simmons serving as pallbearers.

Sanford passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Sanford was born on October 7, 1929, the son of Clusta and Ollie Mae (Payne) Gammill in Oklahoma.  He married Judy Kirby on April 27, 1972 in Sulphur Springs.  She survives.

Sanford was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather, as his family always came first.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, retired from the United States Postal Service, member of the VFW and was of the Methodist faith.

Other survivors include his son, James Wilfred of Como; daughter, Shannon Wallace and husband, Joe of Martin Springs; grandchildren, Charity Wilfred, James Andy Wilfred, Jayden Wallace and Lyndie Wallace; great-grandchildren, Mattison Cameron and Moises Andy Rodriquez and sister, Ruby Nell Watts of Sulphur Springs.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Thomas Gammill and Lewis Gammill; three sisters, Lena Goodson, Vivian Shell and Fannie Stanglin and three grandchildren, Danny Wayne Tipps, Sabrina Marie Tipps and Derek Tipps.
