Henry Gene Frazier

Henry Gene Frazier, age 67, of Mount Vernon, passed away in the early morning hours of Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at his home, with his beloved wife by his side.  Gene was born on May 12, 1948 in Hopkins County, Texas to the late Henry and Grace Thorp Frazier.  He married the love of his life and best friend, Patricia Kay Frazier, on May 30, 1992 in Franklin County.  After 23 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories, she survives.

Gene was a longtime resident of Mount Vernon and member of the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon.  He retired from Flow Serve in Sulphur Springs after 45 years of service as a machinist.  Gene was also a member of the Sulphur Springs Corvette Club.

Gene loved riding and raising horses.  In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing and raising catfish at the farm.  Gene was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Gene is survived by his loving wife, Kay Frazier of Mount Vernon; one son, Gordon Gene Frazier, and wife Leah, of Sulphur Springs; two daughters, Angie Haynes, and husband Donald, of Mount Vernon and Kellie Davis, and husband Keith, of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren, Valorie Nell Frazier, Kayren Horn, Ashley Penny, Amberlie Penny, Caden Penny, C.T. Penny, Lane Davis, Lindsey Davis, Ashley Davis, and Lance Davis; great-grandchildren, Major McCoo, Kingston McCoo, Conner Penny, and Cortlyn Penny; and by a host of other relatives and very special friends.

Gene was also preceded in death by Kaleigh Horn and Michaela Grace Frazier.

Funeral services for Gene Frazier will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon with Dr. Jack Wallace officiating.  Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M., Thursday evening, at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mount Vernon in his memory.
