Hopkins County Judge Robert Newsom is expected to get the bad news officially next week. Indications are the new Hopkins County Jail won’t be finished by November 13 afterall. It won’t be ready for inspection that day and a planned Open House and later transfer of prisoners won’t be happening November 14.
Sedalco Construction Company is expected to tell the Judge and County Commissioners that the project will take an additional ten days to complete or by November 23. Getting furniture for the new facility is apparently taking longer than expected.
