Citizen Assists Sheriff’s Office in Recovery of Stolen Campers and Trucks

lewistatum1A stolen camper reaped a bumper crop for Hopkins County Sheriff’s Chief Investigator Lewis Tatum. The camper stolen on the east side of the county popped up not far from home. Following a search warrant, a bumper-pull camper and a pop-up camper were recovered, along with three stolen pickups—a F-150, a F-350, and a F-450.

During the search for the stolen camper, Tatum said a local resident called the Sheriff’s office to report the location of what they thought to be the stolen item. The camper had been painted but an examination of the camper proved it to be the one stolen. Tatum said this is a good example of “what happens when you have good citizens that help law enforcement.”
