Roger Lane Petty

Funeral services for Roger Lane Petty, age 55 of Cumby will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Byron George officiating.  Interment will follow at Brashear Cemetery with Jerry Petty, Brady Petty, Jake Petty, Casey Petty, Cody Kinsey and Tyler Childers serving as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers are Steve Anderson, Justin Petty, Jason Petty and Josh Petty.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Roger passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2015 at his residence.  He was born on July 24, 1960 in Sulphur Springs, the son of Clyde Petty and Ruth (George) Miller.  He was self-employed and had worked for the City of Cumby’s Water Department and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Petty of Tatum and Miranda Petty of Louisiana; son, Jeremy Petty of El Paso; mother, Ruth Miller; grandchildren, Ricky Kenner and Brooklynn Keener; brothers, Michael Wayne Petty, Ray Petty,  Johnny Clyde Petty and Steve Petty; sisters, Jan Buck and Jeanie Petty.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Petty and step-father, Harold Miller.
