Funeral services for Dorman Allen Morgan, age 78, of Como, TX will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 26, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. L.D. Baxley officiating and Sis. Pam Burton assisting. Military graveside honors by the Hopkins County Military Coalition will follow at Greenpond Cemetery with Daniel Williams, Matt Williams, Denver Hines, Jeff Moreland, Martin Dewitt and Brian Burton serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Darby and Garrett Green. Visitation will be Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home. Mr. Morgan passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his residence.
Mr. Morgan was born on August 13, 1936 in Brannom, TX the son of Dalton Allen Morgan and Dovie Mitchell Morgan. He served in the United States Army. He married Sandra Holder Morgan. She survives. Dorman was a self-employed Dairyman for 25 years, and worked for Holy Highway Christian Girls Home. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, Sandra, he is survived by daughter, Sharon Bennett of Como, step-daughters, Sherry Hill of Como, and Angela Green of Sulphur Springs, grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Darby of Como, Autumn Bennett of Como, Kenlee Green of Sulphur Springs, Shiloh Hill of Como, and Garrett Green of Lindale, great-grandchildren, Maddix Gavin of Como, and Jentri Mowatt of Como, and sisters, Laverne Tidwell of Dallas, and Irene Belcher of Ridgeway.
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Morgan, sister, Thelma Parker, grandson, Addison Bennett, and his first wife Shirley Morgan.
