Graveside service for Wanda Jean Medina, age 73, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at New Harmony Cemetery in Ladonia, TX with Susan Leddy officiating. Visitation will be from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015 at West Oaks Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Joey Jackson, Ronny Jackson, Jr., Rocky Hernandez, Michael Daugherty, Roy Barkheimer and Daniel Wood.
Mrs. Medina passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Medina was born on July 7, 1941 in Ladonia, TX, the daughter of Wesley and Lois (Honeycutt) Jackson. She married Percy Medina on November 19, 1987 in Hugo, OK. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Medina worked for H. D. Lee as a seamstress for many years and after retiring she was a homemaker. Mrs. Medina is survived by two sons, J. R. Wood and wife Tammy of Leonard and Randy Wood of Sulphur Springs, brother, Ronny Jackson and wife Mary, Paul Jackson and wife Louise, sisters, Maureen Wood, Geraldine Slay and husband Jim , grandchildren, Chelsey Wood, Ashleigh Wood, Daniel Wood and wife Chassity, Michael Daugherty and wife Shandra and Rocky Hernandez, great-great grandchildren, Jaxson Wood, Kason Jones, Carson Wood, Dylan Daugherty, A.J. Daugherty, Ryleigh Daugherty and Ryder Hernandez.
