Maureen Miller would like to send a big thank you to “Mark Hixon and the Durst men for so speedily coming to our rescue when my son was giving driving lessons to a teen and got the truck stuck in the mud. Thank you also to Morgan Joslin for helping us get the word out.” She says, “It was two good lessons. 1) We live in a generous community with neighbors willing to jump up to help at a moment’s notice and 2) ‘Really Mom, it looked solid and dry!’ Kids, stay on the roads in winter!” “Thanks again,” from the Millers.

Dacy, Elise, and Eli Campbell visited with Dacy’s mother, Yvonne Weir, a couple of weeks ago, as she is recovering from her knee surgery, and Brenda Allen visited her on January 15th. On Monday, Brenda and Yvonne traveled to Greenville for lunch, and then went to Caddo Mills to see the progress on Dacy’s house. It is nearing completion.
Floyd and Martha Payton enjoyed a visit with their daughter, Regina Payton, from Victoria on Thursday through Sunday morning. Martha shares, “We stayed close to home, since Floyd and I had a bout of bronchitis. We are doing much better now. We caught up on a lot of reading and small chores inside.”

Landon, Laiken, Rylan, and Brailon Joslin, picked up Rylan and Brailon’s sister, Dixie, from Beaumont, and they all spent last weekend at Piney Shores Resort on Lake Conroe. The nice, warm weather allowed them to enjoy being outdoors on the playground and watching the ducks on the lake.
