Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center Director Karon Weatherman had good news Friday. Some additional financial gifts put A Walk To Remember over its’ $10,000 goal. Ms. Weatherman reported $10,603.71 in the bank with a pledge of $750. At the Thursday evening walk at The Gardens at Memorial, a total just under the goal was announced. Funds benefit the Terrific Tuesdays program, which provides activities for victims of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia as well as a respite for caregivers. During the event Thursday evening, Ms. Weatherman read the names of thirty people who had either passed away or were suffering from the diseases.
