September was a big month for the Sulphur Springs Public Library according to Director Hope Cain. 115 new patrons signed up for a library card during the national emphasis. Food for Fines, where food items were exchanged for $1 of credit toward library fines, resulted in donation of over 200 food items for Community Chest. Ricky Smith won the Book in a Jar contest correctly guessing Voyager, in the Outlander series.
September was National Library Card sign up month at the Sulphur Springs Public Library and 115 new patrons signed up for a library card. Just think of all the benefits there are for those individuals!
Food For Fines was also promoted with each item of nonperishable food worth $1 in fines. Over 200 items go to the Community Chest on Thursday. We will be loading up at the library Thursday at 11:20 am and we welcome you to join us delivering the food items…I love that we can all help each other!
A new contest for September was Book In a Jar. Many of our patrons found it very interesting and spent some time with the jar trying to figure out the book title. Our winner Ricky Smith was the recipient of a bag of special selected newly released books. Second place winner, Rachael Hodges went home with a new release by Jennifer Weiner.
