Marian (Holcomb) Blake

Funeral services for Marian (Holcomb) Blake, of Cumby will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014 at Brashear Baptist Church with Rev. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas.  Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Mrs. Blake died on Friday, October 3, 2014 at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas. She was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on July 20, 1934, the daughter of Raymond L. and Corine E. Robinson Holcomb. She married Jack Blake on October 5, 1952 in Dallas, Texas.  He survives.  She was a homemaker and member of the Brashear Baptist Church.

Other survivors include: son, Dennis D. Blake of PA and Andy J. Blake of Kansas; daughter, Cynthia Merkey of Cumby; brothers, Raymond LeRoy Holcomb of AZ, Gene Carey of Clovis, NM and Claude Brenson Carey of Marshall; grandchildren, Terry Joe Miller, Kaysue Ann Hall, Dawn Elizabeth Tucker, Joshua Mark Blake, Corrience Elizabeth Wise, Sandra Lynn Monse, Nicole Naomi Lauret and Lilli-Jeanne Francis Merkey; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by parents.
