Cover Girl Contestants

SarahCG-2The reigning 2013-2014 Cover Girl, Sarah Weatheread, a Senior at North Hopkins High School, is the daughter of John and Melissa Weatheread. She is a member of the Lady Panthers volleyball and softball teams. She is a member of the Hopkins County 4-H, BETA Club and participates in UIL.She attends church at the First Assembly of God in Cooper. After completing high school, Sarah plans to get her teaching degree at Texas A&M-Commerce.

 

 

 

 

shelbie 2Shelbie Lackey, the daughter of Monty and Sheryl Lackey of Cumby, is a Junior at Cumby High School. Shelbie is the 2014-2015 Cumby FFA Vice-President, Paris District FFA Sentinel, and participates in showing livestock. She participates in the UIL One Act Play, and is a member of CHS BETA Club. She is also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. After high school, Shelbie plans to go to Texas A&M- College Station and get a degree to become an Agricultural Science teacher. Shelbie’s window display is located at Korth Health Food Store in the Spring Village Shopping Center.

 

 

mirandaMiranda Rushin, a Junior at North Hopkins High School, is the daughter of Donna and Ronnie Berry and Mike Rushin. Miranda plays Varsity basketball, softball and golf for the Lady Panthers. She participates in the UIL One Act Play and the Texas Youth Ranch Rodeo. She is Vice-President of the North Hopkins FFA and is a member of the Cross Spur Cowboy Church. After graduation, Miranda plans to attend Texas A&M- Commerce and major in Elementary Education and also be a girls basketball coach. Miranda’s window can be viewed at Brumley’s Uniforms, located on the square.

 

 

kourtne 2Kortne Wilson, daughter of Frank and Brenda Wilson, is a Junior at Saltillo High School where she is involved in FFA at the Chapter and District level, BETA Club, and FCCLA. She is employed by Brookshires. After completing high school, Kortne plans to attend college and become a NICU nurse. Kortne’s window display is on Main Street at the Hopkins County Genealogical Society office

 

 

 

 

morganMorgan Mayers, a Junior at Sulphur Springs High School, is the daughter of Gary and Ruthie Mayers. As a member of the SSHS FFA, she competes in veterinary medicine, livestock judging, Creed speaking ,Quiz team, Lonestar Leadership, and has received the FFA Star Chapter Farmer award. Morgan is also a member of the Hopkins County 4-H and is presently the President. She received the 4-H Gold Star award and has participated in the NETLA show for 6 years. She is also a member of the Key Club and likes to participate in shooting sports. After graduating from high school, Morgan would like to attend Tarleton State University to get an Agricultural Science Education degree and be a member of the livestock judging team. Morgan’s window display is located at Brendals Bakery on Main Street.
