Latest Test Accountability Numbers For SSISD
Sulphur Springs School Superintendent Michael Lamb was asked what the headline was concerning the latest test accountability numbers from TEA at Monday night’s board meeting. Lamb’s answer was improvement. All the measured district schools from Sulphur Springs Elementary to the High School met standards and they met standards in all areas. Lamb said he expected that because the bar was set pretty low. What excited Lamb was the tremendous growth by SSISD students. After receiving no distinctions last year, Sulphur Springs Elementary and Douglas Intermediate had one each, the Middle School had two and High School three plus they could have had more except for failure in a strange area, attendance. That despite attendance figure from 95 to 96.4%. The district’s schools were each paired up with 40 comparable ones from across the state.
