63-year old Charles Ray Miller of Waco, who was sentenced to ten twenty-year prison terms on ten counts of indecency with a child by contact last month, was transferred from the Hopkins County Jail to the Texas Department of Corrections early Wednesday morning. On July 8, Miller was sentenced by 8th District Court Judge Eddie Northcutt to serve nine of the ten prison terms concurrently. The last 20-year prison term will be served after the first set of nine are served. Back in July, a Hopkins County jury deliberated about two hours before returning the ten 20-year prison terms. Miller pleaded guilty to the charges and then went to a jury for punishment. The jury was told that the abuse occurred during a six-year period starting when the girl victim was six.
