CASA Officials Appreciative

Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA had a good day in Hopkins County Commissioners Court Monday morning. Annually the county applies to the State Comptrollers Office for excess money from electric co-ops that operate in the county, Farmers Electric and Wood County Electric. Usually the funds amount to about $1,000 but this year the amount was far greater, over $4,500. The county must use the funds to support neglected and abused children and chose CASA. CASA officials were appreciative since they said they have had an increase in neglected and abused children in the county recently.
