8th District Court

In Hopkins County 8th District Court, a 31-year old Sulphur Springs man, David Penny, was sentenced to life in prison without parole for continuous aggravated sexual assault of a child. District Judge Eddie Northcutt sentenced the man on Wednesday. Earlier a jury had found Penny guilty after about a half hour deliberation. The victim was a 13-year-old girl. A jury was selected Monday and the case took two days to complete. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Peter Morgan.
