The Hopkins County Commissioners Court and the Sulphur Springs School Board have reached an agreement concerning the Civic Center Auditorium. Both approved the contract Monday at separate meetings. The school district will spend around $2.5-million to renovate the Auditorium in exchange for a 25-year lease. The start of renovation work won’t be until July 1, 2015. Work is expected to take six months. The agreement calls for sharing of bathrooms when the Auditorium and Civic Center are both in use.
