Lady Cat sophomore golfer Mariam Tran took first place at a tournament at the Van Zandt Country Club Tuesday (February 12). Tran shot an 80 and Lady Cats Coach Whitney Spigener said the round included an eagle that Tran made when her 68 yard shot went in the hole. Coach Spigener said it was Tran’s first eagle in competition.
Lady Cat Charleigh Potts shot 112 to finish in eleventh place. Coach Spigener said the Lady Cats battled high winds and cold temperatures. The Lady Cats play next on Monday and Tuesday in a regional site preview at Rockwall Golf and Athletic Club.
