Sherry Smiddy traveled to Chicago for 12 days and home a couple of weeks and headed out again for another week. She commented, “It should be beautiful weather there this time.” Daylee Fite, Chanse, Brandi, Powell and Sherry attended Cody Fite’s football game last Friday night at Como Pickton. Daylee Fite and Hadlee Hrabal are now on a softball team called “Pink Dynamite”, which is coached by Chanse Fite and Michael Hrabal. Sherry reports, “The team has won a few and lost a few games so far, but watching them is lots of fun.” Daylee Fite had a birthday last week and had a family dinner at Pizza Inn. She said she was too old to have a party this year as she turned eight years old.

Floyd and Martha Payton were in Greenville on Wednesday for Floyd’s dermatology appointment, then met Martha’s brother Von Honzell, from Wylie, for lunch at the new Cotton Patch restaurant. Martha says, “We had a very nice lunch and visit before returning home.”

On Sunday, Linda Parsons and Mary Beth Moore hosted a luncheon for the congregation of the Tira Methodist Church honoring their new pastor and his wife, David and Charlotte Larkin. Those in attendance were Linda Parsons and Buddy, Louis and Mary Beth Moore, David and Charlotte Larkin, Bill and Rosemary Gregg, Jim and Lynda Garner, Sammy and Hope Weir, Joan Melton, Rev. Leroy Reaves, Joyce Dodd, Georgia Smith, Christina, Michael, Troy, and Adriana Stockton, Joey Vicars and Floyd and Martha Payton. Martha adds, “We say “thank you” to Linda for sharing her home for this gathering,”

The Fall Carnival at North Hopkins School will be held on Friday evening, October 24th. Make plans to bring your kids for lots of fun, games, and prizes!
