Gammill - Original PictureFuneral services for Della “Hey” Gammill, age 96 of Sulphur Springs will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Tracy Coker and Van Hargis officiating.  Interment will follow at Arbala Cemetery with Ricky Gammill, Charles Anderson, James Anderson, Tommy Anderson, David Leewright and Joe David Hood serving as pallbearers.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Della passed away on Friday, October23, 2015 at Carriage House.  She was born on October 5, 1919 in the Greenview Community, the daughter of J. M. and Ida (Roan) Woodard.  She was a retired inspector at H. D. Lee and also retired from the dairy business.  She married Allen Ray Gammill on August 10, 1940 in Sulphur Springs.  He preceded her in death in 2000.

She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn Sue Stockton and Wanda Lou Vester and husband, Bill, all of Sulphur Springs; three grandchildren, Van Hargis and wife Melony, of Victoria, Gina O’Dell and husband, Jimmy of Como and Daron Beckham and wife, Susan of Dallas; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, infant son, grandson, James Allen Hargis, four brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to thank Carriage House Manor and Legacy Hospice Care nurses and aids for their compassionate and loving care of our beloved mother and grandmother.
