High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest

Datrece l Williams of Mesquite, 19, was arrested following a high speed chase on I-30 Monday. A Hopkins County Deputy observed a grey Toyota Corolla west bound near the 134 mile marker.  The deputy clocked her speed at 107 mph in a 75 mph zone. Yantis ISD Voters Reject Tax Increase

A proposed tax increase was rejected by Yantis ISD voters Saturday. Unofficial results show 91 votes opposed and only 63 votes for the measure. Monday evening at 6, the Yantis School Board will meet in the school cafeteria to discuss the 2016-17 proposed budget and to adopt the budget along with budget amendments.
