Friday morning at a pond in the Purley area in Franklin County, two Hopkins County inmates, Joseph Icenhour and Jesse Graham (in picture above), went into the water and retrieved a cross that had been cast aside there by Canyon Ray Davis, 17, of Saltillo, and Johnny Bench, 18, of Saltillo (both pictured below). Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating vandalism at a local cemetery. Flag Burned, Monuments Overturned in Vandalism at Weaver Cemetery

Approximately 65 monuments were overturned and the U. S. Flag burned at the Veterans’ Memorial at Weaver Cemetery, according to Hopkins County Deputies. The damage was found Monday.   Hopkins County Sheriff’s Investigators are seeking the person or persons who overturned the headstones and burned the flag.
