The Blue Santa toy drive is underway. Sulphur Springs Police Chief Jay Sanders says they hope to help from 1500 to 1600 children, their biggest year ever. Parents can fill out applications at CANHelp at 613 Gilmer. Deadline for applications is November 26 although Chief Sanders says no one in need will be turned away. The Salvation Army will be taking applications for clothing from Angel Tree Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon and next Thursday from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at VF Outlet Mall. A major two-day Blue Santa toy collection effort will take place at Fix and Feed December 1-2 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. Toys will be distributed on December 13 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Blue barrels for donations of new toys are located at more than 40 locations around town.
