Sherri Lou (Brumfield) Scribner, age 79, of Canton, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 26th, 2026, at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Her life will be celebrated with a visitation on Monday, March 2nd, 2026 from 6:00 to 8:00pm at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas and a graveside service Tuesday, March 3rd, 2026 at 3:00pm at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery.

She was born on March 8th, 1946, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Robert Elias and Jewell Edna Brumfield. As the eleventh child of fourteen, her childhood was filled with joy and adventure that she cherished and often loved to reminisce on with her relatives. She was a loving wife for many years and blessed with three children. As a woman with many talents, throughout her lifetime she held various roles. In her earliest years she worked for Fox photos. She then went from a waitress to owning and operating the Service Cafe in Canton, held different office positions, and was a truck driver. She loved to share stories of her travels from this time, most notably her trip to Vancouver Island in Canada.

After retirement age, she helped run family businesses, but her greatest role in life was being a mother and Nana. She loved to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, always showing up as their number one fan and biggest supporter. She put many miles on the road to be at every stock show and ball game for each of them, always cheering them on and smiling in the stands or on the sidelines. From baking sweet treats in the kitchen, working diligently on puzzles in the living room, swinging on the porch, or huddled around for a competitive game of “Murder” – Nana’s house was the place that everyone wanted to be.

Sherri Lou is survived by two of her sisters, Peggy Sue Grenwelge and Betty Carole Norman; her three children Bryan Fullwood and wife Vicky, Sherri Jones and husband Ronald, and Stacy Fullwood; four grandchildren, Shelby Medley and husband Zach, Keely Roberts and husband Trenton, Dalton Fullwood, and Kenzie Jones; four great-grandchildren, Maclin, Lincoln, Briar Kate, and Hunter Rein; and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Jewell Brumfield, and siblings Mary Mitchell, Bobby Brumfield, Eddie Brumfield, Wendell Brumfield, Faye Evans, Harold Brumfield, Barbara Brumfield, Deloris Brumfield, Jerry Don Brumfield, Brenda Brumfield, and Beverly Gaston.

Up until her passing, she maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, and most importantly the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who she felt hung the moon. She will be remembered for her love, strength, and the beautiful legacy that she leaves behind.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
