Jennings Deeper in Hot Water as Stolen Boat Recovered in Yantis Linked to Local Suspect

April 11, 2024 – Everett Jennings, currently in custody in Hopkins County Jail, has been linked to a stolen watercraft recovered in Yantis. Jennings was transferred from Galveston last week after returning from a pleasure cruise to the Galveston Cruise Port. Outstanding warrants held Jennings in the Galveston jail with bonds totalling $2.25 million until Sheriff Office personnel were able to transport Jennings back to Hopkins County.

Everett Jennings remains in the Hopkins County Jail with that same bond total as more charges may be coming as investigators working a separate case discovered a stolen boat in a storage facility in Yantis, Texas.

According to investigators, the theft of the boat had been linked to Jennings previously, and evidence found at the storage facility furthered their case. Investigators estimate the value of the pilfered pleasurecraft at over $200,000. No additional bond has been set on any additional charges as of Thursday evening.

The investigation into stolen cars, boats, and other items continues. The boat recovered was the same one investigators posted a reward offer from an insurance company several days ago. That did not yield any tips that led investigators to the discovery of the 2023 Malibu Wakesetter.
