Wanda Roletta Walden, age 94, passed away peacefully at Lakeview Rehab in Winnsboro, Texas on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Roletta was born on June 7, 1929, in Greenville, Texas, the daughter of William Hiram and Oma Irene Norman. She graduated from Celeste High School in 1946 where she played basketball, softball and was a member of the Homemaking Club. She married Leon Walden on August 29, 1948, in Greenville. They were married for over 65 years when Leon passed away in 2013. Over the years, she and her husband Leon were very active in Commerce Church of Christ where Leon served as an Elder for over 30 years. They hosted many events at their home for college students who attended the Bible Chair while attending East Texas State University (TAMU-C). Roletta loved to play games and dominoes. She and Leon hosted many parties over the years in their home for the adult bible school class at Church. She was an avid gardener and loved canning vegetables and sharing them with members of the congregation.
