A funeral service for Billy Gene Beadles, age 93 of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rick Beadles officiating. Interment will follow at Posey Cemetery with David Beadles, Rodney Beadles, Mike Hooten, Cleveland Hooten, Gerald Hooten, and David Zahn serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00- 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Beadles passed away Monday, June 26, 2023 at Wesley Oaks Memory Care in Sulphur Springs.
Gene Beadles was born September 29, 1929 in Peerless, TX to L.E. and Dollie (Robertson) Beadles. He married Mary Hooten in Sulphur Springs, TX on December 26, 1949. He was a North Hopkins High School graduate. He served in the U.S. Army before graduating from Draughon Business College. He was a successful dairyman for many years. After retirement, he was self-taught to become a master wood working craftsman. He made cedar chests, beds, desks, toys, and much more for his family and loved ones.
Gene is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Mary; his two sisters, Marlene Marlar and Geraldine Davis; children, Barbara Carey and husband, Byron, Sherry Norton, Janice Hansen and husband, Allan; grandchildren, Reagan Norton, Kristi Connelly, Brandon Jones, Ryan Jones, Blaine Brady, Emily Alvarez; ten great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; younger brother, Loyd Frank Beadles; and son-in-law, Larry Norton.
