Graveside services for Artie Mae Bailey, age 98, of Reilly Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 28, 2023, at Reilly Springs Cemetery with Bro. Danny Caldwell and Ted Boggs officiating.
Pallbearers will be Junior Hinton, Rodney Miller, Kenni Wallace, Danny Clark, Barry Patrick, Trent Watkins, Sam Smith, and Denny Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony McKay and Terry McCullough.
Artie Mae passed away on April 25, 2023. She was born on November 26, 1924, in Yantis, TX, the daughter of Ernest and Lura Folmar Sharp. She was a member of Reilly Springs Baptist Church. She married Grover H. Bailey on February 2, 1947, in Quitman, TX. They were married 60+ years before he preceded her in death in 2007. Artie Mae is survived by son, Kerry L. Bailey of Reilly Springs, sister, Betty McDaniel and husband Truman of Gilmer, grandson, Grant H. Bailey and Melissa of Waxahachie, granddaughter, Astin Bailey Duncan of the Colony, and great-grandchildren, Austin Reilly Duncan, Gage Hunter Bailey, and Kaden Lane Bailey.
In addition to her husband, Grover, she was also preceded in death by her parents, son, Gary H. Bailey, brother, Ernest Chilton Sharp, and sister, Sterlena Emerson. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials may be made to the Reilly Springs Community Center, Reilly Springs Cemetery, or Reilly Springs Baptist Church, C/O Mary Burns, 352 CR 2436, Sulphur Springs, TX, 75482.
