March 29 Vietnam Veteran Memorial Service

March 29, 2023- Veterans of the Vietnam War met at Celebration Square this morning to honor those who served in the war. National Vietnam War Veterans Day is a nationally recognized holiday meant to pay tribute to Veterans of the Vietnam War, including personnel who were prisoners of war or who were listed as missing in action.

Veterans set the flags at half staff to honor those who served and those who did not return home. A rifle salute which was also given during the service of the event. Captain E Ridley Briggs spoke during this service to express the significance of the date. Robert Kerr read an Official Presidential Proclamation during the event.
