Jerry Don Huff, age 76, of Mount Vernon, Texas passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022, in Winnsboro surrounded by his family.
Jerry was born on July 27, 1946, to Howard Edward Huff and Josephine Scarbrough in Grand Saline, Texas. He served in the United States Army for forty-one years from 1964-2005 and retired as a Sargent Major. During his service he was a Green Beret in Vietnam. Jerry was a member of Ducks Unlimited, American Legion, American Ex-POW, and the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Timothy Paul Huff; and his sister, Dorothy Huff.
Jerry is survived by children and their spouses, Kathy Shelton and Duane of Port Bolivar, Texas, Lisa Draper and Don of Winnsboro, Texas, and Gregg Huff and Rebecca of Mt. Vernon, Texas; a brother, Ron Huff; sisters, Roxie Taylor, Charlotte Huff, and Pat Cavness; stepfather, Hawk Scarbrough; stepbrothers, Tom Scarbrough and Richard Scarbrough; half-brother, Jay Anderson; grandchildren, Taylor Loftis, Zach and Montana Loftis, Brandy and Ryan Tschirhart, Brea and Brodie Ogle, Luke and Logan Tebbetts, Tori Huff, Kadi Huff, Vada Huff, Ari Huff, and Eliza Huff; great-grandchildren, Brant Loftis, Wyatt and Warner Loftis, Lanna, Jagger, and Kohan Tschirhart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Sam B. Harvey Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with John Mullins officiating. Pallbearers will be Gregg Huff, Don Draper, Duane Shelton, Luke Tebbetts, Zach Loftis, Dwayne Bolin, and Scotty Alpha. Honorary pallbearers will be Brant Loftis, Wyatt Loftis, and Warner Loftis. Interment will be at Providence Cemetery.
