A graveside service for Meddie Shaw Jr., age 77, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday March 26, 2022, at Mel Haven Cemetery with Pastor James Mason officiating and the nephews serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 24, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Shaw passed away on March 21, 2022, at Christus Mother Francis-Tyler.
Meddie Shaw Jr. was born in Winnsboro, Texas, on February 21, 1945, to Meddie Sr. and Willie Mae (Young) Shaw. He married Evie Newsome on June 27, 1966, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He worked as a Dairyman all his life. He was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Pentecostal Church.
He is survived by his wife, Evie Shaw of Sulphur Springs, Texas; daughter, Linda Johnson and husband Brian of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sons, Eddie Tyron Shaw and Elton Wayne Shaw of Sulphur Springs, Texas; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris McConell of Kanas City, MO, Ella Givens of Sulphur Springs, Texas; brothers, Elton Shaw of Tyler, Texas, Lonnie Shaw of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Larry Shaw of Pickton, Texas, Milton Shaw of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Kenneth Wayne Shaw Sr. of Como, Texas; brother-in-law, Richard Newsome; sister-in-law, Vera Newsome; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Meddie was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Tony Shaw.
