A graveside service for Leland “Lanie” Alcorn, age 82, of Yantis, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Yantis Cemetery with David Hamm officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Tanner Alcorn, Beau Alcorn, Chris Alcorn, Phillip Alcorn, Kai Alcorn and Phoenix Alcorn. There will be no formal visitation. Mr. Alcorn passed away on March 8, 2022, at Hunt Regional.
Leland was born on December 11, 1939, in Yantis, Texas, to V.T. and Mable (Glenn) Alcorn. He married Mary Richardson on October 3, 1958. Lanie worked as a dairy farmer and construction engineer. He was a member of the Yantis Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; sons, Anthony Alcorn and wife, Zenam and David Alcorn and wife, Daysha; grandchildren, Beau Alcorn and wife Cassidy, Tanner Alcorn and wife Samantha, Kai Alcorn and Phoenix Alcorn; great-grandchildren, Delayni, Addison, Jackalyn, Braxton, Harlee, Carlee, Riggin and Huxtyn; brother, Willie Alcorn; and sister, Betty Caudle.
Lanie was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, W.D. Alcorn, Nathan Alcorn, Roy Alcorn, Thurman Alcorn and Jimmy Alcorn.
