Marva Lavern Bennett-Alexander

A memorial service for Marva Lavern Alexander, age 64, of Sulphur Springs, Texas, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2022, at New Legacy Community Church in Desoto, Texas. Mrs. Alexander passed away on January 6, 2022 at her residence.

Marva Lavern Bennett-Alexander (Bop) was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on May 6, 1957, to Marlene and Walter Alexander. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1975 and later attended Mountain View College. Marva met and married James Bennett in Dallas, Texas, in 1978, and gained a bonus daughter, Demitra. She later gained two daughters in love, Tiffany and Cynthia.

Marva was baptized at a young age and later joined Mitchell Chapel COGIC in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Marva worked for several years as an apartment manager and ended her career in compliance before retiring.

Marva is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Marlene Alexander, and her brother, Keith Sims.

Marva leaves to cherish her memories her husband, James Bennett; her 3 daughters, Demitra Jones, Tiffany Manning, and Cynthia Anderson McCall (Craig); brothers, Walter B. Alexander (Sharon), Richard D. Alexander (Evelyn) William Robinson Jr., and John Paul Robinson; 1 living aunt, Dorothy Hudson; grandchildren, Xzavier and AʼMya Jones, Lawana McNeal, Kirion Manning, Kiara McConic, and Mr. and Ashley Dawson; 1 great-grandchild; her nieces and nephews, Leontra, Marvin, Kennard, LaDrina, Joshua, Tʼnya; and also a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
