Jimmy Charles Cummings, 70, of Pickton, Texas, passed away on January 29, 2022, at UT Southwestern Medical Center.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on November 2, 1951, to Charlene and Gene Cummings. After graduating from Como-Pickton High School in 1971, he became a lifelong cattle rancher, poultry producer, and dairy farmer. When asked if he was working, he always replied, “I was playing.”
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charlene Brown and Marvin Childers. Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Hilda Brumley Cummings; his son, JJ Cummings and daughter-in-law Mayra; daughter, Jody Fred Horton; as well as his five grandchildren, Parker Cummings, Presli Cummings, Cameron Chianese and husband Ryan, Brent Horton, and Dallen Horton. In addition, he is also survived by his brother, Eddie Cummings and sister-in-law Donna, and sister, Kathy George and brother-in-law Charlie.
Jimmy loved his wife dearly, was a wonderful father, and grandpa, and was a member of Winterfield Baptist Church. Services are scheduled at the Beaty Funeral, Winnsboro, Texas.
Visitation: Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service: Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.
Interment will follow funeral service at the Winterfield Cemetery, Pickton, Texas. Pallbearers: Parker Cummings, Brian Cummings, Bruce Cummings, Brent Horton, Dallin Horton, Ryan Chianese, and Bo Allen.
