By Ashley Fordinal – Susie Hernandez, Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, Supervised by Joy Campbell, is passionate about helping her clients find their own identity and purpose. She believes that, for most people, a sense of belonging is foundational to psychological well-being.
While Susie is not a filmmaker, she has the desire to build others up – a trait that she and the filmmakers share. This doesn’t come as a surprise since Susie and Ashley Fordinal, Founder of Riseup Films and Producer / Director / Camera Operator for From Ashes, We Rise, met 7 years ago while serving at Celebration Church together.
Susie has been a support system throughout Ashley’s film-making journey, providing opportunities for her to grow in her craft and now joining Ashley in the making of this documentary on Jerry Schemmel in The Race Across America. That goes without saying that Susie will be a major asset in this production.
