Lady Cats Softball Team Opens Season Tuesday With No-Hitter and 12 Hit Attack in 15-0 Win

It was a season opener worth waiting for for the Lady Cats as they defeated Richardson J.J. Pearce on the road, 15-0 Tuesday, Feb. 23.

The game was shortened to 4 innings due to the ten run rule. Lady Cat newcomer Crimson Bryant had quite a debut pitching a 4-inning no-hitter while striking out 12 and going 4 for 4 at the plate driving in three runs with a triple and a stolen base.

The Lady Cats pounded out 12 hits and stole 8 bases. The Lady Cats scored one run in the top of the first and then 7 more in a big second inning. The Lady Cats added 2 third inning runs and 5 more in the fourth. The Lady Cats played errorless ball.

Jadyn Harper was 2 for 3 with an RBI, 2 runs scored and a walk. Addison DeSmet was 1 for 2 with 2 RBIs, 2 runs scored and 2 stolen bases. Nicole Higgins was 1 for 3 with an RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases and a walk. Grace Magnuson was 1 for 2 with 2 runs scored, a double, a stolen base and a walk. Matti Smith was 1 for 1 with an RBI, a double, 2 runs scored and 2 walks. Parris Pickett was 1 for 3 with 2 runs scored. Anahi Valasquez was 1 for 2 with an RBI and a walk. Nylah Lindley scored 2 runs and had a stolen base and a walk. Hannah Sells scored a run.

The Lady Cats, 1-0 for the season, play next in the three-day Allen Varsity Tournament that begins Thursday. On Thursday they are scheduled to play Hurst L.D. Bell at 5 P.M. and Sherman at 7 P.M. with both games at Allen High School Field #2.
