People meeting 1A and 1B criteria –that is healthcare workers and first responders, people age 65 and older, and people age 16 and up with certain underlying health conditions who are considered at high risk — will be able to go online to Christushealth.org, click the yellow chat bot and follow the prompts to be screened and register to have the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine starting this afternoon, after 3 p.m. (Jan. 19). If your don’t get an appointment immediately, Harvey recommends people continue checking back regularly to schedule. They go fast and are posted when scheduling become available.

Appoints will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 23, at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic, located across from the hospital at 105 Medical Plaza. The facility has only been allocated 700 doses, but CHRISTUS’ goal is to give all of those out by the end of the day Saturday.

Moving forward allocations through CHRISTUS will be administered at CHRISTUS Trinity Clinic.

CHRISTUS is lobbying to serve as a major hub center for Northeast Texas due to the number of counties the hospital currently serves, but that has not been approved by the state, according to Harvey.
