Funeral services for Mary Thelma Byrd Lewis, age 88, of Saltillo, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, 2020 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Fred Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Tommy Lewis Jr., Caleb Lewis, Cody Joyner, Tim Williams, Justin Lewis, Stuart Sims, John T. Wright, Brazos Hightower, and Wyatt Hightower serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., prior to service time. Mrs. Lewis passed away Monday, February 3, 2020 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs. She was born on October 28, 1931 in Mt. Vernon, TX, the daughter of Carl Wyott and Mary Hester Jackson Byrd. She was a homemaker and a member of Weaver Baptist Church. She married Horace Ray Lewis on November 1, 1949 in Talco, TX. He preceded her in death in 2018. She is survived by daughter, Patricia Hightower and husband Don of Winnsboro, sons, Tommy Lewis and wife Felicia of Saltillo, Larry Lewis and wife Donna of Pickton, grandchildren, Amy Hightower and fiancé John T. Wright, Tommy Lewis Jr., Anna Joyner and husband Cody, Dalaina Sims and husband Stuart, Justin Lewis and wife Alli, Caleb Lewis and wife Kristen, Meagan Williams and husband Tim, and granddaughter in law, Ingrid Hightower, great-grandchildren, Brazos Hightower, Halee Hightower, Wyatt Hightower, Alora Joyner, Jackson Joyner, Karoline Lewis, Kamille Lewis, Katie Lewis, Lawrence Williams, Katherine Williams, Hannah Lewis, Liesl Lewis, Quinn Lewis, Jude Sims, and lots of friends and wonderful neighbors. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Jason Hightower.
