Lady Cats Basketball Comes Up Short

Lady Cats Basketball Team Takes Hard Luck One-Point Loss at Texas High Friday, 43-42

The Lady Cats Basketball Team lost in heartbreaking fashion Friday night (January 24), 43-42 to Texas High on the road as their last shot of the game did not fall. The loss came in a game that the Lady Cats led most of the time. The Lady Cats got off to a good start leading the cold-shooting Lady Tigers, 10-5 after the first quarter and 25-17 at the half. By the end of the third quarter, the Lady Cats lead had dwindled to just two points, 35-33. The game was tied in the fourth quarter when Texas High hit a big three point basket to go up, 43-40. The Lady Cats cut the lead to one point with a Nylah Lindley basket. Neither team scored another point. Lindley and Kenzie Willis scored 16 points apiece to lead the Lady Cats. Addisyn Wall and Kate Womack scored 4 points each. Hannah Cordell had 2 points. Cordell and Lindley did a good job rebounding against the very athletic Lady Tigers. Lady Tiger Kerrighan Dunn scored 12 points to lead Texas High.

Texas High is now 3-2 after the first half of district play. The Lady Cats are 1-4. The Lady Cats start off the second half of district at Royse City next Tuesday evening, their season record is now 8-20.
