Funeral service for Donna Kay Brinlee Benson, age 75, of Como will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rick Higgins officiating. Interment to follow at Como Cemetery with Wesley Eddleman, Ty Benson, Robert Fewelling, Bryan Lacy, Ray Edwards, Brad Flowers serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Benson passed on Saturday, December 7, 2019, at Christus Health, Tyler, TX.
Donna was born on August 28, 1944 to Larry and Lois Brinlee. She married Gary Benson in Garland, TX on May 7, 1968 and were married 51 and ½ years. She worked as a Medical Aid and was a homemaker. Donna loved to garden and to be outside. Fishing was a favorite pastime and spending time
with her family was her most treasured time. Her favorite saying was “Benson is my name, and Jesus is my game!”.
She is survived by her husband, Gary; children, Kevin Benson, Kyle Benson and wife, Kim, Kasey Benson, LaGina Benson-Bednar and husband, Stephen; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; siblings, Larry Brinlee, Marilyn Mosier and Dale Roach.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Darlene Travis, Ed Brinlee and Greg Worthington; bonus daughter, Tonya Benson-Eddleman.
