Wildcats Spring Football Begins April 17, Spring Game on May 16
Wildcats Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Greg Owens has issued dates for spring football practice beginning later this month. He notes that dates are subject to change. The schedule calls for spring drills to begin Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18 as acclimation dates with players in shorts and helmets. Then on Monday, practice in pads will gear up after school and run until 5:30 p.m. Practices will take place Monday through Thursday through May 15 with the Spring Game set for Thursday, May 16. Doing spring football will cost the program one week of practice in August and one scrimmage. Coaches feel the benefits derived from spring football practice offset the loss of a scrimmage and one week of August practice.
