Severe Thunderstorm Warning Until 12:30 pm Saturday, April 6, 2019

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hopkins County and northern Rains County until 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

At 1146 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near West Tawakoni, or 11 miles southeast of Greenville, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE…Radar indicated. IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include… Greenville, Sulphur Springs, West Tawakoni, East Tawakoni, Como, Hawk Cove, Point and Lone Oak. This includes Interstate 30 between mile markers 113 and 142.

For your protection get inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows. If on or near Lake Fork Reservoir, get away from the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm. High winds and waves can capsize boats.
