Wildcat Baseball Loses Non-District Game

Wildcats Bats Awaken in 9-4 Non-District Loss at McKinney North Saturday

There was a bit of good news for the struggling Wildcats’ baseball team in a 9-4 non-district loss at McKinney North Saturday (March 30). The Wildcats’ bats came alive as the Wildcats outhit the Bulldogs, 10-9. The Wildcats actually took a brief lead opening the game with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning. The Bulldogs struck back with five runs in the bottom of the first to go ahead to stay, 5-2. McKinney North scored a single run in the fourth and three more in the fifth to lead 9-2 after five innings. The Wildcats scored two more runs in the top of the seventh to make it 9-4. The Wildcats continue to struggle in the field as they had four errors. Jaxon Chaney took the loss for the Wildcats pitching the first four innings giving up seven hits and six runs with only three of them earned. Chaney also had two strikeouts and no walks. Kamren Harrison pitched the final two innings allowing two hits, three runs with only 2 earned, with one strikeout and one walk. Kaden Argenbright was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Chaney was 2-4 with a run scored. Jase Thompson was 1-2 with a double and an RBI. Harrison was 1 for 4 with an RBI. Jake Davis was 1 for 3 with an RBI. Austin Dodd was 1 for 4. Will Sims was 1 for 3. Connor Burgin was 1 for 3 with a run scored. Pacen Edwards and Kolson Hale scored runs. The Wildcats left seven men on base. The Wildcats season record is now 10-7. This is Lindale week in district play for the Wildcats. The Wildcats play the Eagles Tuesday night at Wildcat Park and then travel to Lindale Friday night. The Wildcats are 0-1 against Lindale in district play losing a close one at Lindale, 3-2 back on March 12. The Wildcats are currently 2-5 in district play and in fifth place
