Good Wildcats Boys Results At Commerce Tennis Tournament Thursday Held Wildcat Tennis Center

The Wildcat Tennis Center is serving as host for a two-day Commerce tournament that got underway Thursday (March 14) with boys events. Wildcats Tennis Coach Tony Martinez said Friday that his #1 boys player, Jonah Kirkpatrick took first place in boys singles. Coach Martinez was excited that perhaps the toughest match Kirkpatrick had was a second round match against Wildcat freshman Alex Romero. Kirkpatrick won, 8-4. In boys doubles Thursday, the team of Aaron Lucas and Logan Schumacher took first place winning over a Farmersville team, 7-6, 6-4. A Farmersville team defeated the Wildcats boys doubles team of Jordan Gonzales and Michael McCord for second place. Two Wildcats JV’ers, Tate Smith and Austin Bowie, were allowed to enter the tournament and they finished third. Wildcat girls have matches on Friday.
