Lady Cats Soccer Coach Discusses Game Result

Lady Cats Soccer Coach Joel Bailey Pleased With Warm Up Game Result

Lady Cats Soccer Coach Joel Bailey said Monday (March 25) night’s 2-2 tie between the Lady Cats and Athens in a playoff warm up game at Gerald Prim Stadium reminded him of the last time the two teams played in Athens back on January 22. He said Athens got out to a lead and the Lady Cats came clawing back. There were some differences. The weather was much colder and wetter back in January and the Lady Cats lost in January but got a tie Monday night. Coach Bailey said he was glad his team could get back on the field. They last played last Tuesday against Royse City at The Prim on Senior Night. He said playing the talented Athens’ team helped his team get ready for the playoffs. After the Lady Cats fell behind 2-0 in the second half, Lady Cats Janine Yamaguchi and Baylie Arrington scored goals to tie the score. Coach Bailey said he told his team at halftime that they still had 40 minutes to turn things around. As it turned out, they only needed about half of that time. The Lady Cats play Hallsville Friday at 6 p.m. in a bi-district match at Mount Pleasant.
