Saltillo Lady Lions Softball 19, Yantis 9 Lady Lions Win Second Game of Season
The Saltillo Lady Lions’ softball team scored runs in every inning to defeat Yantis, 19-9 on Tuesday (March 26). The Lady Lions jumped out to a 9-0 lead. Yantis rallied back to within two runs trailing only 9-7. Both teams scored two runs in the third inning and Saltillo led 11-9 after three. The Lady Lions put the game away with eight unanswered runs over the next two innings. Chandler Bain got the pitching win for Saltillo recording five strikeouts. Bain was also 2 for 3 with two walks and two doubles. Paisley Kastner was 2 for 2 with a single, a double and two walks. Anna Reeder was 2 for 3 with a single, a double and two walks. The Lady Lions also got singles from Raegan Speir, Josey Bench and McKenna Gurley. Saltillo received 19 walks in all. The Lady Lions improved their season record to 2-5. They play at Rivercrest Friday at 6 p.m.
