Wildcats Golfers Finish Second at District Preview Monday at Paris Country Club
The Wildcats’ golf team shot 314 and finished second in a district preview at Paris Country Club Monday (March 25). Texas High captured first place with a 300 score. Wildcats Golf Coach Chris Owens said Monday was a beautiful day for golf and the best day so far at a tournament. For the Wildcats, Carter Lewis led the way with 75. Colton Bench and Andrew Escobar each shot 78. Kip Childress shot 83. Grant Mohesky had a 91. Mount Pleasant’s Ryan Goolsby was a top medalist shooting 68. Coach Owens said he was pleased to have three of his golfers shoot in the 70’s. He said he feels the Wildcats can shave enough strokes off to challenge Texas High for the district championship back at Paris Country Club on Monday and Tuesday, April 1-2.
