North Hopkins Baseball Team Has 10 Run Victory over Quitman Saturday

The North Hopkins Panthers broke open a tie game with Quitman scoring the game’s last ten runs in a 14-4 win at home Saturday (March 30). The teams were tied 4-4 after three innings. The Panthers scored five runs in the bottom of the fourth, one more in the fifth and four more in the sixth. North Hopkins outhit Quitman, 8 to 5. The Panthers had five errors and Quitman four. Wyatt Wharton was 1 for 3 with a big triple in the fourth inning that scored three runs. Victor Rojo also knocked in three runs and had a single and a run scored. Jessie Rivera was 2 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored. Colby Cameron was 2 for 4 and two RBIs and two runs scored. Branson Thomas was 2 for 3 with a double, four runs scored and an RBI. Brycen Gillespie scored a run and had an RBI. The Panthers stole nine bases with Cameron having three. Kevin Clement got the pitching win throwing five innings allowing four runs with only three earned with nine strikeouts and four walks. Geoffrey Stewart pitched a scoreless sixth inning striking out three.
