SSISD Fine Arts Dept. Begins Busy Schedule Tonight With Concert

The Sulphur Springs ISD Fine Arts Department has a busy week ahead, with concerts, contests and special performances.

Sulphur Springs High School Bands will be performing a Pre-UIL Concert tonight at 6 p.m. March 26 in the SSHS Auditorium.

“We will also present the Memorial Plaque for Mr. McCauley,” SSISD Fine Arts Coordinator Cindy Welch said.

On Wednesday, the school’s One Act Play will compete in the bi-district contest.

“The contest begins at 10 and they perform third. If you plan to attend, you probably want to arrive by 12 p.m.,” Welch said.

On Thursday, Bowie Primary first grade will present their music program at 9:45 a.m. and at 6:30 p.m. in Bowie school cafeteria. They are under the direction of Danette Lovelady.

Advanced Art students Travis Pundt and Callie Harvey will be part of an art show at the Tyler Museum of Art on Sunday. The opening reception and awards ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m.
